Laura is a driven and passionate theatre maker. She is the co-founder and current co-President of the Inverness Student Drama Society, where she has gained credits writing, directing and producing. While studying an Honours Degree in Drama and Performance, Laura has been working on establishing a professional theatre production company, Launch Theatre. Laura is specifically interested in directing community-based theatre and desires to help facilitate the development of a sustainable creative community in the Highlands.
Sean Gallagher is an Actor, Writer and Disability Advocate. Based in Inverness he travels around the country adding his oddball charm to a variety of projects. Credits include National Theatres Futureproof Festival and Scottish National Youth Theatre.
Founder of Play Pieces, Lindsay Dunbar said “ I know that Laura and Sean have a fantastic vision for theatre-making in the Highlands and will continue to support the sector in all sorts of innovative ways. I look forward to seeing what they do and to supporting their work.”
Laura said “I am honoured to be taking on this new opportunity. Lindsay, Cathy and Dave have all been positive and supportive and I am excited about what this change will mean for the future.”
Play Pieces was established in 2011 to support the emerging-work of Highland theatre-makers, many of which have gone on to professional positions in the Scottish Theatre sector.
